22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3

Image
1.) Pitch: 2.) Reflection: Everyone mentioned in their comments on my last elevator pitch that I improved my pitch from the first time. They also all brought up how it was good that I listened to the negative feedback, thought about it, and incorporated it into my pitch to change my original ideas slightly. Their feedback really helped me see a flaw in my ides that could make my whole company not work in the long run, so their help was key in helping me identify this flaw. 3.) Based on the feedback, I generally decided to keep my pitch the same since there were no more corrections. Of course, I tried making my pitch sound and look better, in terms of voice speed, etc. I also didn't look my best when I recorded it so I tried to look more put together for this third elevator pitch. As I said this pitch, I was very comfortable since I have done this twice before and I actually did notice that I could memorize it better than before. I hope this is my best pitch because it should...

Mutual relations with off-brand phone repair services (Gainesville Phone Repair)- same as above, we will try to work with them but not as close...

21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

1) The theme o this book explored entrepreneurism and how the creation and advancement of technology for consumers can have both good and bad repercussions. 2) This connects to what we learn and talk about in class because we are literally trying to create a product or service, which does not really exist as of now, for consumers in order to better society. We are trying to be entrepreneurs and have that entrepreneur mindset to create a better product or service for society. This book explores how these new pursuits can help our lives easier, but in contrast he also shows the dark side. 3) I would have students try to tally up the amount of good and bad effects new products or services can have on society, and then debate on whether it is ethically right to keep advancing technology. 4) My biggest surprise was that a man was able to make a gun with his 3D printer without needing a permit or registering it with the government. That is scary and it is just the beginning of 3D pri...

20A – Growing Your Social Capital

1) This person is an Apple technician. He's worked at Apple for 2 years and has answered questions and sold apple products and dealt with fixing apple products. 2) I would say this man is a domain expert in that he knows a lot of information about Apple's policies and making appointments and phones but not too much about the technology itself. He is an expert in providing customer service. 3) I recently had to get my apple watch replaced because it had a cracked screen. So when I did this and took it to the store, I was able to talk to an Apple worker. 4) The person took my watch and packed it in a box to be sent to an Apple factory for them to replace it with a new one.  5) If I included him in my network, I would be able to find out more about the current problems a lot of consumers deal with when they go to Apple and he could tell me how I could provide a better service than what already exists. 1) This person works at an phone repair shop in Gainesville.  2) ...

19A – Idea Napkin No. 2

1)  You. I am Tanya. I am talented at photography, writing, and multi-tasking. I have traveled a lot and love trying new foods. I scuba dive and sky dive and consider myself adventurous. I aspire to have a job that I love and uses my creativity but also allows me to still travel and I want to live in a city environment but also near the beach. This business could help e achieve this because I would set up locations everywhere, so location would not be a problem and I would like my job. 2)  What are you offering to customers? I am offering a way for consumers to fix their broken phones in a much more cost-e ffective  way than what is offered now. I will work with and not against phone companies, to provide a cheap cost while also still helping phone companies so my company does not fail. 3)  Who are you offering it to? I am offering this to anyone who owns a phone, which is pretty much everyone. My main demographic will likely be young people in their teens ...

17A – Elevator Pitch No. 2

Image
It surprised me that people were concerned about how the cell phone providers would be affected by this, because the point was to not give them so much money any longer. But now looking back at it this is not good because than they will stop providing great phones and services. This information was very useful. I used this information to add an a very important aspect to my business plan. I will now be working WITH phone providers and they will help me and I will help them. The profits I make will be shared among them in order to keep cell phones and services great quality and we can both mutually benefit and learn from another. None of the comments were silly, and they were all very helpful. I am glad they helped me open my eyes to see a potentially huge problem that I was able to easily fix. This will for sure enable my business idea to have further success if I am working with my rivals.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

Image
Alex Meet Alex, my prototypical customer. Alex has blonde/brown hair but it is not naturally that color. She enjoys keeping up with the trends and likes all the popular/basic music. She is in Alpha Alpha Alpha and enjoys tanning, going to library west with her friends, and going to midtown. She's obsessed with her iPhone and social media and is always on her phone. She spends most of her money on makeup, clothes, and food. Her phone is her life and she "could not live without it." She likes working out at Southwest and is obsessed with avocado toast. She is 20 and is an accounting major and hopes to live in a big city when she graduates, like New York or Seattle. She's originally from Tampa, FL but secretly wishes she was from South Florida. She has one of those wallet cases on her iPhone, so she doesn't even need a purse. She relies on her phone to carry her life and would probably die without it. She drives an Audi and a red scooter which she rarely uses...

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

1)  Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique.   1. Thrill-Seeker- I go sky-diving, scuba diving, and have walked off 5 feet off of a moving cruise ship on a plank. I like being adventurous. 2. Creative- I am into product design, love photography, and have edited pictures to make them surreal in Photoshop. 3. Foodie- I went to the 4th best and 8th best restaurants in the world last summer! My parents love good food so I've been to hundreds of Michelin star restaurants growing up. 4. Photographer- I bring my camera everywhere. I love capturing candid moments or just capturing the beauty of nature. 5. Traveler- I've traveled the world because of my adventurous parents. They can't stay in one place for longer than a week so we're always somewhere. 2)  Interview the five people who know you the best.   1. Friend-  I think you’re really personable and can easily talk to anyone, which is a good quality when it ...

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Alternative Evaluation: Price and quality seemed to matter most when it came to my segment of college students. College students don't have much money so they tend to go for whatever is cheapest. They can't break the bank with a new phone, but are willing to pay a premium for a quality phone. Quality is a big thing when it comes to the three people I interviewed. They all agreed that they wanted a phone of better quality than their current already expensive smartphones. How/Where: 1 of my interviewees said she always goes in person to the apple store when she buys/repairs her iPhone. Another interviewee said they always order a phone online. And the last one said it depends, sometimes she has bought it online and sometimes in a store. The interviewees said their parents usually pay for the phones on credit card. Post-Purchase Evaluation: They all agreed that they know a purchase is a good idea even before they buy their product. They all do enough research and usually k...

14A – Halfway Reflection

Image
1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  To keep up with requirements, I have set certain days to complete each weekly assignment. This helps me stay on track and not miss any deadlines. I usually try to do the assignments on Thursdays, as the Cupcakes are released then and I can get the homework out of the way. Then, on Sundays, when everyone in my group has done their assignments I write my comments and am done with the work for that week. It always helps to do the assignments ahead of time as well, so you don't have to worry about them if you have a busy week ahead. 2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? When I was very stres...
